Las Vegas has become the wedding capital of the country where there
are more themed motifs for getting married than one can imagine.
Couples can begin their life together with an adventure! They can
choose to tie the knot on board a pirate ship with all the nautical
period costumes and regalia, get married seated on a Harley, or
go where only few have gone before with a Star Trek wedding
theme. If they prefer, they can go all out in the romance department
with the traditional pomp and trimmings at one of the fabulous and
quaint wedding chapels.
A marriage license in Las Vegas may be obtained from the Clark County
Marriage Bureau, 200 S. 3rd Street, 1st floor, in Las Vegas, telephone:
702-455-4415. Requirements are that the couple is an unrelated man
and woman who are both at least 18 years of age. They may be asked
for proof of age (birth certificate) and proof of identity, or in-person
consent of legal guardian for those between the ages of 16 and 18
years of age. Before obtaining a marriage license, divorced persons
must have date of final decree as well as the city and state were
granted. There are special legal requirements for license registration
for couples from outside the United States, contact the Marriage
License Bureau for specific information. Otherwise no blood tests
are necessary and there is no waiting period. A marriage license
in Clark County cost $50.
